An outside reading

Those closest to a situation rarely hold the clearest view of it. An outside advisor asks the questions that internal colleagues may not think to raise — or may hesitate to voice.

Strict confidence

Every engagement is conducted under strict confidence. We do not share client details, and the deliverables we produce belong entirely to the principal.

Written deliverables

We commit our readings to paper. A written document can be returned to, shared selectively, and used as a reference through the months that follow the engagement.

Principal-level engagement

Work is conducted by senior advisors, not delegated to junior staff. The principal knows who they are speaking with at each stage of the engagement.

Malaysian market context

Our advisors have worked alongside Malaysian firms across sectors and governance structures. We bring an understanding of local leadership culture that international firms cannot replicate.

Defined scope

Each engagement has a clear beginning, a stated scope, and a point of completion. We do not seek to extend the relationship beyond what is useful to the principal.

Who are your engagements suited for? +
Our work is most useful to chief executives, managing directors, and board chairs of established Malaysian companies — typically firms with consolidated revenues above RM 50 million. We work with principals who have substantive decisions in front of them and would benefit from a structured, confidential outside conversation.
What does confidentiality mean in practice? +
We do not disclose client names, the nature of the engagements we hold, or the content of the conversations and documents produced. Written deliverables belong to the principal and are not retained by us beyond what is necessary to complete the engagement. We are happy to discuss the particulars of our confidentiality approach before any engagement begins.
How is the fee structured? +
Fees are fixed for the engagement and stated clearly before work begins. They are not contingent on the number of meetings or the length of documents produced. There are no additional charges for reasonable follow-up within the stated scope. We invoice in Malaysian Ringgit.
How does an engagement begin? +
A principal or their office contacts us using the form or phone number on this page. We arrange a short initial conversation — typically thirty minutes — to understand what the principal is hoping to address. If both parties feel there is a useful fit, we propose the most appropriate engagement format and agree on scope before any work begins.
Do you work with companies outside Kuala Lumpur? +
Yes. While our office is in Kuala Lumpur, we work with firms across Peninsular Malaysia and, where appropriate, with Malaysian-led groups that have regional operations. Conversations can be held in person or by video call depending on the nature of the engagement and the principal's preference.
Can an engagement be extended or renewed? +
Each engagement completes on its own terms. If, at the close of an engagement, the principal and our advisors agree that a further conversation would be useful, we are open to discussing a subsequent engagement. We do not propose extensions or renewals unless the principal raises the question.
