THE FIRM

A practice built on
careful attention.

Inti Konsult was founded on the conviction that the most useful advisory work is quiet, specific, and conducted in strict confidence.

OUR HISTORY

How Inti Konsult came to be.

Inti Konsult was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2011 by a small group of advisors who had each spent the prior decade working alongside the leadership of major Malaysian corporates — in various capacities, across sectors including financial services, construction, property, and professional services.

What the founders observed, in the course of that earlier work, was a persistent gap in the advisory market: the large international firms were able to deploy considerable resources and global frameworks, but their work was rarely attuned to the particular texture of Malaysian corporate governance and leadership culture. The smaller local firms, meanwhile, lacked the seniority and methodology to engage credibly at principal level.

The firm was named Inti — the Malay word for core or essence — because the founders believed that the most valuable advisory conversations are those that attend to the core of a matter, rather than its surface. That belief has shaped every engagement the firm has taken on since.

Over the years that followed, Inti Konsult built a quiet reputation among the principals of established Malaysian firms. The firm does not seek publicity, does not publish case studies, and does not name its clients. What is known of the firm's work is largely passed on through the conversations of the people who have engaged it.

OUR MISSION

What we are here to do.

Our purpose is to offer Malaysian business principals access to a senior, impartial, and well-prepared outside perspective — at the moments when such a perspective is most useful.

We do not seek to replace the internal knowledge and judgment of the principals and boards we work with. That knowledge and judgment is generally considerable. What we aim to provide is a structured outside view that can complement it: asking the questions that internal colleagues may not think to raise, drawing on a wider range of reference, and returning a written reading that the principal can refer to privately in the period that follows.

We work with a small number of principals at any one time, so that each engagement receives the attention it warrants. We do not operate a staffing model in which senior advisors win work and junior staff execute it. The advisors who meet with principals are the advisors who produce the deliverables.

"Attend to the core of a matter."

HOW WE WORK

The standards we hold ourselves to.

Confidentiality

We do not disclose client names, the scope of engagements, or the contents of the conversations and documents produced. All advisors sign binding confidentiality agreements.

Senior execution

The advisors who lead engagements are the advisors who conduct the conversations and produce the deliverables. We do not operate a model in which senior staff win work and junior staff deliver it.

Written discipline

We commit all substantive readings to paper. A written document disciplines the thinking behind it and gives the principal something to return to. We do not rely on verbal summaries as deliverables.

Independence

We do not hold equity stakes or financial interests in any client or prospective client. Our advisory judgements are not influenced by financial relationships beyond the stated engagement fee.

Defined scope

We agree the scope and deliverables of each engagement before work begins, and we adhere to them. We do not expand the scope of an engagement to increase billing without the principal's explicit agreement.

Candour

We consider it our responsibility to share observations plainly, including those that may be uncomfortable. An advisor who only affirms what the principal already believes offers limited value.

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

Inti Konsult is a senior business advisory practice based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The firm serves chief executives, managing directors, and board chairs of established Malaysian companies who are working through consequential questions and would value a structured, confidential outside perspective.

The firm's advisory work spans three principal engagement types: the Senior Strategic Conversation, a four-week engagement that brings an outside reading to the questions presently on a chief executive's desk; the Board Effectiveness Review, a twelve-week process in which the firm observes board meetings and holds confidential conversations with directors to produce a written reading for the chair; and the Multi-Year Strategy Cycle Advisory, a six-month senior engagement that accompanies a leadership team through a full strategy cycle.

Each engagement is conducted by senior advisors with direct experience in Malaysian corporate governance, strategic leadership, and board dynamics. The firm maintains a deliberately small roster of concurrent engagements so that each principal receives sustained, senior attention. The practice is held in strict confidence, and the firm does not publish client lists or case studies.

The firm's advisors draw on experience spanning Malaysian banking and financial services, property and construction, professional services, and publicly listed groups across Bursa Malaysia. This breadth of sector exposure allows the firm to bring reference points and pattern recognition that a single-sector advisor cannot offer.
