WHY INTI KONSULT
What a well-placed advisory
relationship can offer.
The case for working with Inti Konsult rests on a number of specific characteristics that distinguish the practice from other advisory options available to Malaysian principals.
Back to HomeAT A GLANCE
Six things that characterise our work.
Senior outside perspective
Access to a structured, impartial reading of the questions presently on your desk — conducted by advisors with direct experience at principal level in Malaysian organisations.
Strict confidence
We do not disclose client names or the nature of engagements. Every conversation and written deliverable is held in strict confidence and belongs entirely to the principal.
Written deliverables
Every engagement produces a written document — not a slide deck, not a verbal summary. A written reading can be returned to, shared selectively, and used privately over time.
No delegation
The senior advisor who leads your engagement also conducts the conversations and writes the deliverable. The work is not handed to a junior colleague once the engagement is won.
Malaysian context
Our advisors bring direct experience of Malaysian corporate governance, the Bursa listed environment, family-controlled groups, and the particular culture of Malaysian boardrooms.
Defined and contained
Each engagement has a stated scope, a fixed fee, and a point of completion. We do not seek to extend engagements or add work beyond what was agreed at the outset.
EXPERTISE
Deep familiarity with how Malaysian firms are led.
Our advisors have worked alongside Malaysian companies across the full cycle of corporate life — periods of growth, restructuring, succession, and strategic reorientation. That accumulated familiarity is not something that can be produced through desk research or replicated by advisors whose primary experience is elsewhere.
The particular texture of Malaysian corporate culture — the weight given to relationship, the role of the founding family in publicly listed groups, the dynamics of boards composed largely of independent directors who know one another — is something our advisors understand from direct experience, not from general frameworks.
SECTORS COVERED
Financial services, property, construction, professional services, trading, and manufacturing groups across Bursa Malaysia and private ownership.
ADVISORY DEPTH
Principal-level conversations on strategy, succession, board dynamics, and leadership transitions spanning over fourteen years of practice.
GOVERNANCE KNOWLEDGE
Close familiarity with the Malaysian Code on Corporate Governance, SC requirements, and the practical realities of board composition in established Malaysian firms.
ENGAGEMENT APPROACH
Each engagement begins with a clear brief, follows a structured methodology, and closes with a written deliverable prepared by the lead advisor.
NO SCOPE CREEP
The engagement scope is agreed in writing before work begins. Additional work beyond that scope requires explicit agreement and is separately scoped.
PRINCIPAL ACCESS
The principal has direct access to the senior advisor throughout the engagement, not to a client service team or account manager.
PROCESS
A way of working that respects your time and your office.
We have designed our engagements to be light on the principal's time while remaining substantive in their output. The Senior Strategic Conversation, for example, asks for two structured conversations over four weeks and returns a written document the principal can use privately — without requiring the principal to participate in a lengthy discovery process or sit through a sequence of presentations.
The way we work is also sensitive to the protocol of senior Malaysian offices. We do not circulate meeting notes to assistant staff, we do not copy communications to colleagues without the principal's agreement, and we do not contact the principal's organisation without prior arrangement.
VALUE
Transparent fees and a defined return.
Our fees are fixed and stated clearly before any work begins. They are set at a level appropriate to the seniority and depth of the advisory work, and they are not subject to revision during an engagement unless the scope is formally changed at the principal's request.
The return on a senior advisory engagement is difficult to quantify in the way that, say, a cost reduction programme might be quantified. What principals report, in the conversations that follow completed engagements, is that the written reading helped them to think more clearly about a matter that was on their desk — and in some cases, to decide on a course of action they had been hesitating over. That is the particular value we aim to provide.

|---|---|---|
| Who conducts the work | Senior staff win the mandate; junior analysts execute | Senior advisors conduct and write throughout |
| Deliverable format | Slide presentations designed for group presentation | Written documents the principal can use privately |

| Fee structure | Day rates or retainers that can expand with scope | Fixed fees agreed in writing before work begins |
| Engagement length | Often open-ended, with incentive to extend | Defined scope, clear completion point |
| Independence | May have financial relationships with related parties | No equity or financial interests in any client |
WHAT SETS US APART
The features of our practice that are less common.
A written reading, not a presentation
Very few advisory firms produce written documents as their primary deliverable. Most produce slides. We write. A written document requires its author to think more carefully, and gives its reader something more durable. We regard this as a meaningful differentiator.
Work only taken on where we can add value
We decline engagements where we do not believe we can contribute something useful. If the initial conversation suggests that the principal's needs would be better served by a different type of advisory relationship, we will say so plainly and, where we can, suggest alternatives.
Deliberately small roster
We carry a small number of concurrent engagements. This is a deliberate constraint, not a capacity limitation. It ensures that each principal receives sustained attention from the senior advisor assigned to the work — and that the advisor has the space to think carefully.
No proprietary methodology sold as a product
We do not apply a branded framework or proprietary diagnostic tool to every engagement. Each engagement is approached on its own terms, using the methods most appropriate to the situation — which vary considerably from one principal to the next.
